Rhizome Membership and Activities

Rhizome offers:

  • A supportive, safe environment for fellow artists and designers (undergraduate, graduate, emerging and established) for self-development and critique to enhance individuals’ practice.
  • Use of Rhizome's facilities for group activities and exhibitions (not as personal studio space).  
  • Weekly activities and a variety of events designed to support and advance the development of members' creative careers.

Rhizome sessions open to the Public:

Activities for public involvement will be advertised on our Facebook page. There are currently no open sessions.

We are very excited to be holding a live painting/Drawing/Performance event at the Tinside Lido for Plymouth Art Weekender, 25th-27th 2020. Further details will be available on the PAW website https://plymouthartweekender.com/ shortly. 

 

Rhizome activities:

Rhizome meets every Tuesday 10 am - 1 pm (currently on Zoom), and it runs a rolling monthly programme along these lines:

week 1 - theoretical session - open crit

week 2 - practical session - a Rhizome member to facilitate, currently based on the 'Flicker' group project

week 3 - theoretical session - talk about art - a Rhizome member to offer a topic to the group a week in advance

week 4 - practical session - a Rhizome member to facilitate, currently based on the 'Flicker' group project
